We Remove the Nest — Not Just the Wasps Around It

A can of wasp spray knocks down what's flying. The nest keeps producing, and the ones that were out foraging come home angry.

Final Call removes the nest itself — under soffits, in the ground, inside wall voids — with the gear and the distance to do it safely. Then we treat the areas where they rebuild, so the same eave isn't occupied again in three weeks.

The Stinging Insects You'll Find in Northern Illinois

Paper Wasps

Slender, long-legged, and hanging from an open umbrella-shaped nest under eaves, deck rails, and grill lids. Not especially aggressive — until you get within a few feet of the nest.

Yellow Jackets

The ones ruining your cookout in August. They nest underground or in wall voids, sting repeatedly, and get bolder as summer ends. A mower over a ground nest is how most people find them.

Bald-Faced Hornets

Black and white, and the reason for that gray football-shaped nest in a tree or on a wall. Highly defensive, and they'll swarm at a distance most people don't expect. Do not approach this one.

How Our Wasp Nest Removal Works

Free On-Site Inspection

A licensed technician identifies the species, locates the nest — including hidden ground and wall-void nests — and checks for others you haven't spotted.

Safe Nest Treatment & Removal

We treat the nest directly with professional equipment, then remove it where it can be reached safely. Ground and wall nests are treated at the entry point so returning foragers carry it in.

Interior + Exterior Coverage

Our Quad Shield™ Pest Protection System treats four zones on your property — the foundation, a three-foot perimeter, your property edge, and reachable soffit lines. Soffits and eaves are where wasps start.

Follow-Up & Guarantee

Wasps back between visits? So are we — at no charge, for the life of your protection plan. That's the Final Call guarantee.

When to Call About a Wasp Nest

  • A visible nest under an eave, soffit, deck, or grill
  • Wasps flying in and out of a hole in the ground, siding, or brick
  • A gray papery nest in a tree or on the side of the house
  • Steady wasp traffic around one spot on the house
  • Anyone in the home with a sting allergy
  • A nest anywhere near a door, walkway, play area, or where kids and pets spend time

Colonies are biggest and most defensive in late summer — August and September are peak sting season in Northern Illinois. If the nest is high, in the ground, or inside a wall, don't try it yourself.

Wasp & Hornet Control FAQs

How fast can you get here?

Stinging insect calls get priority scheduling — especially with a sting allergy in the home or a nest near a door or play area. Call us and we'll tell you the soonest we can be out.

Can I just spray the hornet nest myself?

For a small, low, visible paper wasp nest, carefully — at dusk, from a distance. Never for ground nests, wall voids, or bald-faced hornets. Spraying a wall nest often drives them into the house instead of out.

Do you remove the nest, or just kill the wasps?

Both, where it's safe to reach. Nests inside walls or underground are treated at the entrance and left in place — pulling them out can do more harm than good.

Are your treatments safe for kids and pets?

Yes. We treat the nest and the surfaces around it, then tell you exactly how long to stay clear — usually a short window the same day.

Will they come back to the same spot?

Wasps don't reuse an old nest, but they do reuse a good location. That's why we treat the surrounding surfaces, and why year-round protection keeps eaves and soffits from being re-colonized each spring.

Do I need pest control for honey bees?

Honey bees are pollinators and we don't treat them as pests . Call us and describe what you're seeing; most "bee" calls turn out to be yellow jackets.
